You may have heard it’s National Dog Day! Here at Oroville Police Department we have 3 exceptionally trained canines that spend their days working hard along si...de their handlers. Frankie is a black lab trained specifically in narcotics detection and works with her handler, Officer Wright. Both Ozzy and Raja are Belgian Malinois and help Officers Khan and Tennigkeit with apprehension and narcotics detection. All 3 of these canines can be found working on the streets of Oroville. Also pictured is Sammie who retired in 2018. We appreciate all the hard work from our K-9 Unit and hope these special furs get extra love today See more

Today the Oroville Police Department partnered with Walmart for our annual Shop with a Cop event. This year 20 schools from the Oroville, Thermalito, Palermo, and Bangor areas participated. Each school was able to nominate 5 students to shop with a cop and buy presents for themselves or family members. We had 96 students show up and 525 items were purchased. This program is 100% funded through local donations. We would like to thank Walmart and the community for supporting this event.

As Camp put it: Everyone works in Camp’s class, no exceptions! Even Oroville PD’s School Resource Deputy Breck Wright joined in and had to get the math done!
