For those who were unaware, a great reckoning started over the weekend when @ratmagnet on Instagram asked women to share "What sexist comments have you experienced?" and a flood of stories began pouring in from women working in the craft beer industry. . We absolutely condemn sexisim, abuse, assault of any kind and have a ZERO tolerance policy for this type of behavior. Original Gravity's culture is one of inclusion, equality and opportunity. As a small business within this i...ndustry in which we reside we recognize that quite simply it has been dominated by men and their toxic behavior for far too long. . The staff at OG have always used a safe word to identify patrons engaging in inappropriate behavior and we've immediately removed them from our bar. There is also a buddy policy in place with no one taking trash out or walking alone after closing. . We cannot ignore the stories of harm done by these breweries, especially those we have worked with in the past so here is what we are doing to advocate - . . -Any brewery who has not come out with a satisfactory response and actions to allegations will no longer be served at Original Gravity. Period. Accountability matters and there cannot be change without it. . -Any remaining stock of any breweries in question will be poured through with all proceeds going towards Ratmagnet's Gofundme to help with legal fees. . -We will be hosting a Women for Women Industry event celebrating their amazing contributions throughout our wonderful community with proceeds going directly to Pink Boots Society.
