Organic Adventures Play School

It may not look like much to adults... but this little pile of leaves and sticks represents a morning of deep focus and learning for kids. Play-based sometimes has a reputation for being viewed as less academic than other types of structured learning processes. But play is so much more! Especially in this season of confusion for little minds... play is where emotions are processed and regulated, where they learn the deep connections of how things are connected and why. I fi...nd that by giving them the space to just play you are in fact giving them space to just BE. The letters, numbers and handwriting skills come SO much easily to those that are given the opportunity for undirected play. Instead of spending months drilling letter sounds into their minds, let’s spend months engaging their imagination and motor skills. Today’s Playschool adventures The kids discovered a new area of our usual exploration spot. We practiced our gross motor skills with racing up and down the hillside and hiding in a bush cave they found.
