**update** after checking cameras OCPD determined who the suspect was. The reindeer was returned and suspect was charged with theft. As in previous years we decorate to bring Christmas joy to our community and children. We will continue to decorate bigger and better every year.

WT66 was the last unit to return home from the creek fire. All Orange Cove crews are now back home and preparing for the next assignment.

Creek fire update, E366 along with TC50005 and TF 6110 put down an approximate 4,000ft hose lay today. Crews are still working very hard at the #creekfire . Fire is now 212,744 acres and 16 percent contained. E266/WT66 are on a much needed day of rest, after working a 24 hour shift yesterday.

We al...so express our gratitude to Dollar General in Orange Cove for supplying all plastic bags utilized to organize face masks, gloves and hand sanitizers provided. Thanks to the Orange Cove Public works dept for organizing street closures and assistance with traffic control. Without the assistance of volunteers this would have been a difficult challenge. To the Orange Community we appreciate you all doing your part in maintaining social distancing, and the use of face masks to help slow this pandemic. Your effort is clearly demonstrated, thank you! All items provided were made possible by the State Council on developmental disabilities.

With face coverings now mandated by the State of California for all public places, the Orange Cove Police Department and Orange Cove Fire Protection District ar...e working together to provide free supplies to residents of Orange Cove. The supplies are part of COVID-19 safety initiatives received from the State of California. Disposable masks, hand sanitizer and gloves will be available for distribution. Distribution will take place Friday, August 21st from 9am to 11am at the Orange Cove Fire Protection District, located at 550 Center Street. This will be a drive-thru style distribution. Vehicles can enter off of 6th Street and Park Boulevard and proceed to follow signs into the entry.

On 07-03-20 at approximately 1:00 pm, OCPD was investigating the sales of illegal fireworks through social media site. The investigation led to the arrest of 22... year old Jonathan Lomeli. A search warrant was initiated at two locations (1200 block of G, and 200 block of 5th street), both within the City of Orange Cove. Upon search of both locations a substantial amount of illegal fireworks was confiscated, believed to be worth about $3,000. You can report the use of illegal fireworks to the Orange Cove Police or Fire department. You can remain anonymous.

July 4th is fast approaching, the Orange Cove Fire Protection District wants to remind residents about fireworks regulations in the City of Orange Cove. Fireworks are used by many Families to celebrate July 4th. Orange Cove Fire District wants the community to have a safe 4th of July. As per the City of Orange Cove city ordinance. Safe and sane fireworks sales in the City of Orange Cove have started today and will end on July 4th. Safe and sane fireworks may be discharged within the City of Orange Cove from June 28th to midnight July 4th. A firework is considered illegal if it can leave the ground or explode or does not have the State of California Fire Marshal Safe & Sane log on the package. Use of or possession of illegal fireworks is punishable by a fine of $1000.00

Orange Cove Fire Protection District 12.04.2020

Orange Cove Fire District responded to the area of Monson and South for a vegetation fire today. Ponding basins in the area and todays winds posed many issues. This is a reminder of the high fire danger if the the local area. Weed abatement notices were sent out the first week of May, property owners are responsible to maintain there property and keep it fire safe. As the weather heats up and winds continue so will the fire danger. This makes the second fire in the area in the past two days, both fires believed have been intentionally started. Anyone with information regarding the fires, can contact OCFPD Battalion Chief/Fire Investigator Hernandez at 559-626-7758

OCFPD was dispatched to the area of anchor/south for a vegetation fire, crews located a fire in the middle of a vacant field. Fire crews burnt the area out to help prevent future fires. Please remember OCFPD has started its hazard abatement program. Prevent fires by eliminating fire hazards on your property.

E66 and WT66 assisted @fresnocountyfire with an abandoned structure fire in the area of Crawford and Adams. Power lines were down on the alpha delta side of the structure. Firefighters opted for a defensive fire attack on the abandoned structure.
