I like practicing easy ways to connect with the energies of the Moon. Waning quarter moons are a great time for releasing and clearing, and of course Libra relates to art, craft, beauty, balance and harmony. This is something that’s been coming up for me a lot lately. And probably for a lot of us. Many of us are finding our mental health challenged right now. We hear the voice in our head saying that everything is going to fall apart, or that all our work will come to nothing. Many of us are spending lots of time alone, worrying that no one sees us or no one cares. . We have to remember that that voice inside is not YOUR voice. It’s not your friend. It’s an influence you’ve taken... on and it’s an influence you can cast out. . This morning in my meditations I heard a voice telling me that my best days were behind me. I decided I didn’t want to be influenced by that voice. I wanted to be influenced by Dolly Parton. . Dolly Parton feels friendly and when I think about her I feel good about myself and what is possible. She even makes heart ache seem beautiful. . TODAY IS THE NEW MOON IN CANCER... . Cancer rules the 4th house, the place we store our memories, our ancestry, our personal and collective histories. . I call them rumination habits where you obsessively dwell on people that have hurt you or things that have gone wrong. Remember, that habit the voice of the child within you that needs protection and care. . What is that child asking for? What do they really need? Reassurance? Rest? . Listen to your heart today and respond with love. Today is a good day to reset a pattern or habit that has been keeping you from feeling truly loved. . I often feel like I need to go away to get my true work done. But in fact, the opposite is true. . In fact, going away is a description of what I’ve already done when I feel that way. When I’m having trouble concentrating I already am away. Disassociated. Fragmented. . In that state, I imagine that in order to get anywhere I have to go even further away: to a cabin in the woods. To another town, somewhere cheaper, where I don’t have to hustle so much, so that I can concen...trate. . But in fact, all I need to do to be able to concentrate is come back. I need to stop, and breath into my heart. . I need to feel my feet on the floor. . I need to squat and breath all the way into my tail bone. . I need to call my full spirit home. . When I stop trying to get away and instead quietly call all my fragmented pieces back together, I feel whole. I know where I’m going. I know where I AM. .
