Per the new orders for Sacramento County, we are now able to provide non-emergency eye care, but are not yet physically open. We've missed our patients and look forward to seeing you soon! To protect the health of our patients and staff, we are implementing new protocols as we re-open. We will resume scheduling appointments on May 7th.
Even though you can't visit the gym, don't lose sight of your exercise routine right now. Throw your sunglasses on, head to the backyard, and try out some virtual classes! We love recommendations. Comment on the best local virtual fitness classes below.
Due to the COVID-19 situation the physical office is closed until April 30th, and all appointments cancelled. Please call once we are re-opened, and we will do our best to have your seen as soon as possible. In the meantime, we are operating via non-contact technology. Messages left on office voicemail will be checked periodically throughout the day, and someone will contact you as soon as possible. To order contacts, please leave a message and Dr. Miyamura will review... your chart and contact you. You can also order from our website, www.optocaresac.com. If you have glasses on order, they can be mailed to you or we can arrange a "drive by" pickup. Please contact the office ahead of time to confirm. If you are experiencing unusual vision problems, pain, flashes of light, increased number of floaters, discharge, severe light sensitivity, pink or red eye, itchy eyes -- or anything you would call the office to ask if you should make an appointment to come in --- I want you to call 916-201-3039 and let me know, so we can determine if you need to be seen in person, or by telemedicine, and how soon. If you are not sure if you are experiencing an ocular health or eye emergency, please call 916-201-3039 and leave your name and phone number. Dr. Miyamura will contact you as soon as possible. If you are unable to reach her please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. Thank you for your patience and understanding. We look forward to seeing you (in person) soon! Stay healthy and safe!
We have cancelled all appointments for the next two weeks, as per recommendation of California Optometric Association. As of Monday March 16th, we are open our usual hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday 9-5 and Thursday 10-6, closed for lunch every day between 12:15 and 1:30pm. In addition to our standard disinfection practices for equipment before each patient, we have increased disinfection on higher traffic areas such as countertops, tabletops, and door handles. We provide hand sanitizer for staff and patient use as needed. If you prefer to have your eyewear or contact lenses mailed to you, please contact us at 916-635-1823.
Our office will be closed on Independence day, and also closed on July 5th. We will see you at 9am on July 8th. Have a good one!
In observance of Memorial Day, we will be closed on Monday May 27th, after which we are open our normal hours.
Many of us aren't blinking often enough, or closing eyes all the way. This leads to symptoms of dry eye such as burning, stinging, grittiness, stickiness and watering. Yes, if your eyes are extremely dry, they will water. People blink a lot less frequently when on computer, digital devices or reading, so remind yourself to take "blink breaks."
It's already February?!? We will be closed in observance of President's Day on Monday February 18th.
Wishing you a Merry Christmas! We will be closed Monday December 24th and Tuesday December 25th. We reopen at 9am on Wednesday December 26th with regular hours.
