Food Distribution at Magnolia Science Academy, and more Msa Santa Ana, as the community school in Santa Ana and Orange County, is hosting a "Thank You" Event, a...long with Andre from Power of One Foundation and Congressman Rep. Lou Correa. All volunteers will receive recognition from Congressman Rep. Lou Correa. Today, we also have Girl Scouts of Orange County, supporting the event with their volunteers and passing out Girl Scout Cookies to the community. Don't miss it :) First come, first serve, or until they run out. We have our media partners here as well. Salt of The Earth Today my heart is very heavy. My dad/grandfather has passed away losing his battle with Covid 19. I would not be who I am today had it not be...en for Otis Stocker. He is truly Salt of The Earth. His love, kindness and patients is something I will carry with me for the rest of my life. I didn’t have my dad growing up. My dad/grandfather was there for my first football, basketball games and track meets. My first touchdown he called it. He drove me to every practice and stayed there. He would watch me the whole time. He would give me words of wisdom in ways I could truly understand. No matter how many failures I had. He would always lift me up and tell me to keep going. You will get it Son is what he would tell me. When I think about it now. Him being there was the biggest gift of my life. Me seeing him as a young boy growing up and seeing the love he had for my grandmother was priceless. He always we out of his way to make sure she was taken care of. Not one day can I think of that this man yelled at her or called her out her name. It was always respect. He would cook three meals a day for my grandmother. Not because he was forced but because he loved her that much. Seeing this kind of love given to a woman by a man at an early age really help shape me as a man. The way he treated his daughter with so much respect. Transferred that love down to her three kids and when she was a single mom. He never put her down. He stepped right up and became a farther. They say any man can be a dad but it takes a real man to be a farther. I truly understand that statement. Otis Stocker was a beacon if light for any ones life he touched. He always had a smile. He always saw thing in a positive way. He always had patients. He was always honest. He was always slow to anger and the first one to walk away if things could not be solved in a peaceful manner. I cry tears of saddens because I will not get the chance to talk to you. I will not get to see your beautiful smile. I won’t be able to hear those beautiful words you will get it son. I cry tears of happiness because I know you did not suffer in the end. You are in a much better place. You now can constantly shed your light on us everyday from Heaven. I am so sorry you were alone in your last hours. After so much you have given to this world and our family you didn’t deserve that. Please know poppy your family wanted to be there with you till the end. No one should die alone. We don’t know what time or day our lived ones will leave us. Though we may know the good bad and the ugly of someone we love. We have to always remember to look at how amazing they are. Take a step back and look at them with love and compassion and be thankful for every moment we have shared with them. We are not promised tomorrow. Covid 19 has taken a whole lot of loved one from families in a way that will effect loved ones for years to come. Tell your family members you love them. No matter their faults. We are all human and we all make mistakes. Dad/Grandpa you will be dearly missed!!!!!! I will carry your light in my heart and keep it lit in the world through all my actions. My life from this day forward is dedicated to you! I love you Otis Stocker may you Rest In Peace.
