It's National Walnut Day! Lots of nuts are good for your teeth because they contain vitamins and minerals. These include peanuts, which have calcium and vitamin D, cashew nuts that stimulate saliva and help clean teeth, and walnuts, which are high in fibre, contain iron, folic acid, magnesium and more. So make sure you get these essential nutrients by adding nuts into your diet. Come see what we’re all about at oneloosetoothdental.com

Dinosaurs grew new teeth when one was lost or broken. A fossilized T-Rex tooth can weigh up to a pound. #funfactfriday #dentalfacts #placerville

Sedation dentistry uses medication to help reduce a patient’s fear and anxiety during dental procedures. Sedation dentistry can come in many forms, from medication you swallow before the procedure to Nitrous oxide (laughing gas or conscious sedation), or general anesthesia in the hospital known as sleep dentistry. There are more concerns about the use of sedation with young children than ever before. There have been studies linking increased risk of learning disabilities ...with general anesthesia in children. In some extreme cases, though rare, death is a critical side effect most seen in patients with compromised health. At One Loose Tooth, we treat the child as a whole, understanding that the brain and the rest of the body are more important than one single tooth. For this, every procedure and material is methodically chosen to benefit the child’s entire being so we are happy to say we practice sedation free dentistry. #tbt Dr. Keith’s grandpa, Dr. Herb Keith, was an oral surgeon in WW2. Raised 8 children in the Bay Area and had 14 grandkids. He was a role model to Dr. Keith living only 1 mile away. He feels lucky to have been able to treat him before he passed. Here’s to the grandpas out there!
