Going through pictures in my phone to reflect not only on the last year but the last couple years and this gem popped up . Pre-COVID I was always in a rush and felt I needed to get everything done every single day. I felt I was always setting goals for new things to achieve in my career and personally and I never really just stopped to enjoy the moments. This picture was taken when my daughter was 11 months old.... she will be 3 1/2 on the 17th, what the hell?! How did so m...uch time just fly by in the blink of an eye?! My last baby is almost not a baby anymore! ...even tho she is currently passed out in my bed as I write this because she still calls herself the baby and wants to cuddle every night, and I’ll take those cuddles as long as she wants to give them!!... sorry babe, one day we’ll get our bed back . ...and I’m fully kicking myself for not slowing down when I should have. 2020 I believe was a blessing in disguise for me. It really made me stop and do NOTHING! ...which I needed, otherwise I would still be that mom that was always working, missing sports events, and not getting home until the kids were already in bed. This next year will be about small growths in my career but MAJOR growths in my family and being present! No more missing baseball games (whenever those happen again), no more taking with clients 24/7 on my days off, and definitely no more looking back at pictures and thinking ‘damn how did that go by so quickly and I feel like I wasn’t there enough’. Almost every client that sits in my chair brings in an inspo pic of what they are wanting. Sometimes it’s Pinterest, sometimes it’s social media. I even occasionally get the old school google searches still . What most clients don’t know, but every seasoned hairstylist can see instantly is that 9 out of 10 times the photos have filters or they are photoshopped. Not only does this make our job difficult but it’s not realistic. We then have to be the bearer of bad news and ex...plain to the clients that the photos isn’t real and the hair color is not true. CLIENTS... you must trust your stylist! We know what we are doing, we are trained for this for thousands or hours and countless education on our own. Of course we want to give you your dream hair but we also don’t want to compromise the integrity of your hair. We want you leaving with thick, beautiful, and healthy hair. Dimension in any color is key in order to make sure the color does not lack shine and luster. Any color without dimension tends to look flat and dull.
