5G is a great foil for the titans of the industry to hang promises on. The innerworkings of various technology approaches are so arcane that everyone just believes the promises of the industry. Take upcoming Tmobile/Sprint Merger for example... https://goo.gl/xxzYrG

Here is a great article about the scope of the thriving copper resale market. Omsoft's own business revenues are heavily weighted toward using UNEs (unbundled network elements). This article suggests a wide breadth of economic activity that is now threatened. This will wipe out businesses all over. File Comments by June 7th https://goo.gl/uhA6r7

Please Share with your friends, a severe restriction to Internet freedom is upon you, as the big Regional Telcos are trying to shut down access to all small competitive carriers throughout the USA. So your choice of broadband providers is just the big guys, and the channelization of the Internet in America is ensured. They will only deliver you web pages that pay them for timely delivery, AND you will have no independent choice to mitigate that. ACT NOW. REPLY WITH COMMENTS https://goo.gl/bvqc6s

For any netizens who want to understand what is at stake with the US Telecom Forebearance petition, this will be the call to be on. This is a very troubling petition that will remove competitive wholesale access to important copper network elements. We are just starting to get gigabit over short distances on copper, and this petition will stifle the marketplace https://register.gotowebinar.com/regist/4267048887615456259

URGENT and EXISTENTIAL threat to Small ISP's and Internet Access Competition from US TELECOM ASSN. US TELECOM ASSN which represents ATT, Century Link, and other large incumbent local exchange carriers, AKA (ILECs) have filed a petition with the FCC. Their petition is for forbearance from regulatory requirements established in the 1996 Telecommuncations act that require ILECs to offer unbundled network elements (ie access to the copper PSTN we all own ) to competitive local ...exchange carriers, all the new small phone companies associated with the remaining independent ISPs. With this forebearance petition they are seeking: - immediate 15% price hike on all services (copper loops, colocation, CO to CO connectivity) - immediate stop on all new instances of the above - 18 month roadway for cancellation of all above services For example, this directly affects and bears on, the omFusion product Omsoft provides in conjunction with Santa Rosa , CA based company Sonic Telecom Inc. Your choice for wireline Interent will be further restricted to only the major Phone or Cable Cos, and the last of the Independent wireline ISPs and small phone companies will be vanquished. Please get informed about this petition and file a comment with the FCC. https://goo.gl/KpUFta

Net Neutrality commercial from socially conscious Burger King? https://goo.gl/gGaXTr

This is a good article about Net Neutrality from a CEO of a Tier 1 ISP that serves Netflix. It will provide you all with an idea of what immediate and direct consequences look like of Network deregulation. Cogent is an upstream ISP, that Omsoft and DCN have used for about 10 years. Netflix has a speed test site of its own, FAST (dot) com which will help you understand your speed to NetFlix infrastructure. With Net Neutrality and Title II regulation you should get equivalent speeds to this test, that you would using any other common speed test. After December 14th .... not so much. https://goo.gl/RcYrmc

The issue of how the Internet should be regulated can be confusing, because it is a new and complicated technology. We can all agree though, with email, IP Phone service, Skype or Face time, that this great network is used for Private TELECOMMUNICATIONS. We do acknowledge that many people use it to PASSIVELY receive entertainment, but that doesnt dispel the fact that it has replaced the land line phone as our primary communications medium. So DONT the important laws that have been in place to protect the privacy and integrity of our telecommunications that have pertained since 1934 belong to Internet ACCESS? The leadership of the FCC carelessly dismisses this as inconsequential. https://goo.gl/i5Nwcj

John Oliver reminding people what Net Neutrality is and why its important. You don't want the greatest tool in our memory destroyed by companies that want to channelize and dominate. They've already done enough. https://goo.gl/FHru3F

Municipal fiber networks are a good antidote to the current adminsitration's insistence toward no regulation, and masssive profit taking. We need to move ahead with DavisGIG to ensure that our citizens get unrestricted access to whatever web content or service they wish to use with their broadband connection. https://goo.gl/s3TsU4

This is a repeat of the Gilded Age with Internet access instead of Trains or Oil. The Dominant ISPs are going to try and squeeze yet more money out of their completely lucrative situation. With Comcast, already taking 95 cents in profit for every dollar of revenue, they are looking to supplement their future loss of cable TV revenue here by charging in the middle of the network. It seems that the current administration is all on board with this of course, and they might ignore the overwhelming responses against these change, but that doesnt mean you shouldn't add your voice. We need everyone to file a comment to the FCC right away. Here is a good article that shows an easy way of doing it: https://goo.gl/17qp7o
