The change is needed urgently in how BPM’s reimburse community pharmacies. Without sensible solution few could survive unchanged. Sad..... PBM’s to independent pharmacies are like Walmart to rural independent retailers (while moms and pops are forced out of the marketplace): consumers are lead to believe they are saving money; in fact, they end up paying more for inferior services and questionable product quality, at best. This is why the medications in the United States are so outrageously expensive: These obscure, yet very powerful companies - middlemen that are really more like unnoticed giants, who may fool you into believing it's the pharmacy and the manufacturer are responsible for your medication costs........ Some of the largest ones are controlling as much as almost 90% of prescriptions filed in the USA between only 3 companies..... Their profits are larger than e...ver, the fees they charge to the pharmacies have gone up 40,000%!!!!!! Its FORTY THOUSAND PERCENT, FOLKS......... while States and Federal Governments are paying higher fees, in turn, funded by all of us, taxpayers. You have probably seen your prescription co-pays rising steadily for a while now, while the local neighborhood "Mom-and-Pop" Pharmacies, often the pillars of the communities, have closed their doors forever........ Sad..... It makes me angry, we must do something about these anti-competitive practices hurting consumers and local businesses. See more
