Greetings OKBC Families-- please review the below letter from our board that was recently sent out in regards to Fall Session Dear Orcutt Kids Bike Club Families, We hope this letter finds you all healthy and well. We regret to inform you that our fall bike club session is being postponed. This was a very difficult decision for our board to make, as we all hoped that we would be able to return as a club this fall. However, due to the circumstances with Covid, school closures,... sport cancelations, and strenuous guidelines set out by USA Cycling and our county/state, we feel that it is best to postpone until spring. We will continue to monitor the situation and work on a plan to safely return to our sport. In regards to your registration fee that transferred from our spring 2020 session, we are offering you three options: You may request a refund of your fee, minus the cost of the jersey. This would be a refund of $25 (and $15 for each additional child registered). You may donate your registration fee to Orcutt Kids Bike Club. This donation would be tax-deductible now that we have officially obtained our non-profit status. You may transfer your registration fee to our Spring 2021 session. Please use the Remind app to reply and to let us know your preference. In your message, please include your child’s name and which option you would like: 1, 2, or 3. Thank you for your understanding and support. Although our club session has been postponed, bikes have not been canceled. We hope that you are finding safe ways to get out there with your families. Hello OKBC Families please see the below information from our President, Julie Silva. Hello Orcutt Kids Bike Club Families, We hope this letter finds you and your families safe and healthy. Following local, state, and USA Cycling guidelines for the COVID-19 pandemic, our board members made the decision to cancel our postponed OKBC spring session. Your child’s spot and registration fees will be transferred over to our fall session, which is scheduled to begin in September. I...n the meantime, we hope you are able to find ways to have fun on bikes with your family. Thanks to Mainstreet Cycles and Giant Bicycles, OKBC has received a donation of two mountain bikes for demo. We have a 24-inch and a 26-inch mountain bike available for our riders. If you have a child who may be moving up a size in bikes and you would like to try one out please contact Julie at 805-260-0056. Once you sign the waiver, you may use the bike for one week. Although we are apart, we are in this together. If you have any questions about bikes or trails, please reach out to a board member or leader. While we have to keep our distance please know that we are still here for you! OKBC
