Day 47 (2 more days) Hod of Malchut (humility of leadership) In gazing at the stars, we often see "stars" that are not really stars. At times, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn shine in the evening, night, or early morning sky near the horizon, and to the naked eye they look exactly like bright stars. In fact, the light they seem to give off is actually the result of their illumination by the Sun. Unlike the Moon, they appear as dots or "stars" because of their grea...ter distance from the Earth. In exhibiting leadership in our personal and professional lives, we can't always be the source of the light, we can't always stand out. Sometimes we must allow the light of others to illuminate us and give us wisdom and strength. Sometimes we must reflect what comes from others. Sometimes we must hold our uniqueness in our hearts and blend in. Always, we must understand that our ability to lead is a reflection of God. #characterrefinement #49DayChallenge #leadership #CountingTheOmer

Day 46! Only 3 more days!!!! Where has the time gone? Day 46: Netzach of Malchut (endurance within leadership) It takes endurance and longevity to be a leader. It takes patience. Becoming a leader doesn't happen overnight, and remaining a leader requires maintaining ourselves through all the tough things that happen in a day or a week or a month or a year. We have to stay at it to see the fruits of our efforts, to let our "babies" evolve and change and grow. We have to hang ...in there and burn brightly for what might sometimes seem like a fantabulous amount of time. Ask yourself: Am I determined to reach my goals? Have I been able to witness the fruits of my labor? Do I empower others to stick to when they are feeling discouraged? #characterrefinement #49DayChallenge #CountingTheOmer #leadership #3moredays

Day 45: Tiferet of Malchut (Harmony/Beauty of sovereignty) I grew up loving and studying music, and I adore so many different musical genres. So I can’t think of the word Harmony without considering it in a musical context. Some pieces are lovely with their simple Harmonies full of predictable patterns using minimal vocals and instruments blending together. Others are quite intricate, requiring attention to the complexities and variations that combined provide a beautiful h...armony that is variable yet still amazing. I find this most in classical music, or modern music that utilizes complex classical concepts to produce their sound. Varied instruments, different in their structure, size, and sound, being able to come together to produce beauty and harmony is a manifestation of something glorious. It isn’t just the components that make something up that are important, but the way they work together that produces something exquisite. In life we have this same opportunity to manifest Harmony between varying ideas, concepts, people and situations and find the Beauty in the relationship between them. Each of us is a tiny part of a huge universe, a small ingredient within the pulsing heart of creation, being kept in balance as we contribute our particular component. Malchut is all about taking Action. We have the opportunity to Act to restore Harmony whenever we see the world out of Balance. Our actions to join in the fight against the disharmony from injustices, conflicts, environmental imbalances and such is our way to help Manifest a world in balance. Consider how you can become a part of the Harmony of our vast world. #characterrefinement #49DayChallenge #CountingTheOmer

Day 44: Gevurah within Malchut (discipline within nobility) Today, We look at the obligation for self-restraint that goes along with authority. Whenever life gives us power over other people whether in position, in the workplace, or over our children we have a duty to consider how we use that power and set boundaries to prevent its abuse. Have you ever lost your temper in dealing with a person whose job it is to provide a service to you? Think about the times when you ma...y have said something that deflated the self-esteem of a coworker. Think about the times when you have been overly harsh with one of your children/students. We recognize that self-discipline is not just a matter of keeping ourselves from harm, but it is a covenant with the people in our lives, especially the people who count on us to live up to standards of kindness and respect. To fail in keeping those standards is to lose a bit of ones inherent nobility. #characterrefinement #49DayChallenge #nobility #servantleadership

We’ve MADE IT to the very last week of Counting the Omer! This week we will cover the aspect of Kingship or dignity. Day 43: Chesed within Malchut. (Loving-Kindess within Kingship) Malchut is a sense of belonging. Knowing that you matter and that you make a difference. That you have the ability to be a proficient leader in your own right. It gives you independence and confidence. A feeling of certainty and authority. When a mother lovingly cradles her child in her hands and ...the child's eyes meet the mother's affectionate eyes, the child receives the message that I am wanted and needed in this world. I have a comfortable place where I will always be loved. I have nothing to fear. I feel like a king in my heart. This is Malchut, Kingship. Healthy sovereignty is always kind and loving. An effective leader needs to be warm and considerate. Does my sovereignty make me more loving? Do I exercise my authority and leadership in a caring manner? Do I impose my authority on others?
