Perfect for understanding the balance of ourselves with stability and others with some flexibility! ... Key Benefits: Improves balance & concentration Opens shoulders, chest, and hips Strengthens things, ankles, and core Stimulates the heart chakra for compassion Tips: Keep a micro-bend in the standing knee Keep your gaze fixed on an unmoving spot Make sure bent knee does not open to the side Focus on the flow of the breath, do not hold it Don't be afraid to fumble or fall, get back up and try again For a deeper stretch, hold your outer ankle with the opposite hand. Or hold the back leg with both hands if your balance is strong and steady. Rest your free hand on a wall or chair to help with balance. You can also you a strap to wrap around your back foot to build up to your flexibility. Dancer's pose reminds us of the delicate balance it takes to support ourselves in strength while reaching out to generously give our heart to others.
