My task for today!!
To achieve maximum compression in your engine, combine cylinders 2, 3 and 4, right? I think it was working on combining all 4 for the ultimate super compression!!
2013 heading to the machine shop to find the real problem. Dealership wanted $6,000 just to replace the cam, or $10,000 for a new engine. Yeah, well, that ain’t gonna happen when a rebuild... if it even needs a full rebuild is gonna be less than a third of that.

One of the projects going on today!

Today’s project... the 67 Buick Skylark turbo’d LS2 install. Had the motor in for mock-up to make the crossmember for the new trans but didn’t have the flywheel and clutch in it yet. So today I pulled the motor, installed the new McLeod duel disc clutch and light weight flywheel and re-installed the drivetrain permanently this time. Now I can start the rewire on the entire car along with the Vintage Air AC unit. Can really start making progress now with everything!!

Not that it matters because I am replacing the hood. But you should always test fit the hood before cutting it!! Lol
Wiper motor install complete!! Also have the hood hinges on and ready for the hood. Getting so close to having it on the road!!
Got some more stuff done to the 69 Firebird today. Got the custom wavy bumper put back on and the front turn signals ready to go back in. And for those who are wondering. I’m putting the dinged up, and bent and dented stuff on for DMV inspection. I will eventually replace the parts but for now I just want to drive her. In order to do that the CA DMV has to inspect it and it has to be complete with all lights and safety equipment working and installed. Almost there. I’ll be working on the hood tomorrow to clearance it for the air cleaner, and she’ll be really close. Windshield should be next week as well.
Project #1 for this Labor Day weekend is in the books. Brakes and ball joints and she’s riding pretty good now!!
Here’s one of the many Labor Day weekend projects I’ve got going on. Did ball joints and brakes on the front so far. Gonna be starting the rears soon. Still have the Firebird to work on, the 67 Skylark is getting some more done this weekend.. and my daughter has her car down here, which has a check engine light and a lean condition going on. I’d have to say that my weekend is filled with labor. That’s what you’re supposed to do on Labor Day, right??
67 Skylark in for a turbo’d LS3 install!!
Got the new intake and carb on and fired her up today. The 1969 Firebird is really coming along. It sounds and runs so much better now. Now we just have to get her dialed in and tuned up.
Got the carb rebuilt and electric choke conversion kit installed. I’ll be tuning her up and getting her dialed in tomorrow. Can’t wait to hear her run and drive her with the 4 barrel on her.
And then there was light!! All lights are working now getting it one step closer to being road worthy.
More progress on the 69 Firebird!! Soon she’ll be street legal.
I was told that saying it can do a burn out doesn’t make it real until there’s video. So here it is!!
