Oxnard Gem & Mineral Society, Field Trips 03.11.2020

(Note from Bob) Hello, I know I have not been very active with this site since November and for that I am sorry. We have had a rough couple of years employment wise, and the cherry on top was a bout of A-Fib leading to minor heart failure in December. I have been on restricted duty (IE not working) since the episode and it has lead us to the position of having to sell our home. We will be moving down south to Carson to live with my mom who is 84 and also in poor health. This ...will benefit both parties for sure, and allow us to catch our breath. I will be handing over control of this site to an active person in the Oxnard Gem and mineral Society as soon as we can get a replacement field trip director. Thank all of you for being patient, and for taking the time to like this page. it has been a pleasure seeing new faces and enjoying all you folks out there in the field.

How does this sound? BLM convoy to the Mojave Trails National Monument shows up to a shitload of rockhounds at Lavic Siding with signs. Let's make this happen ...people. The field trip for the next Desert Advisory Council meeting is 5/20. The topic at 2PM will be a visit to Lavic siding with Kim Erb (a dedicated Rockhound who served on the DAC). Let's show up and show them how impt all the rock collecting areas in the new national monument are to us and what a loss it would be if they don't include recreational rockhounding in the Management Plan.
