Happy Lunar New Year Today is the first day of the Year of the Ox. If you were born in 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997 or 2009, this is your year
We have made some progress with the landscaping at the SSFWC Clubhouse. Here are some ‘before & after’ photos showing part of the front and one of the side areas. Our members have been doing the work themselves (following all Covid-19 safety guidelines ). We appreciate all of their hard work. We are still working on the back garden, which is where the engraved bricks will be placed. If you haven’t ordered yours yet, there is still time. You can find a link to the order form on our page. We are looking forward to being able to use the Clubhouse for events again. We know everyone is going to enjoy the new landscaping and garden area.
Save the Date and get your reservations in for the next SSFWC Drive-thru Food event. On March 20th, will have a Corned Beef & Cabbage (with red potatoes, carrots and corn), roll with butter and cookie drive-thru event. $20.00 per plate. Reservations/payment need to be mailed in by March 12, 2021 (see flyer below for all details). ... We will also have our Annual Plant and Bake Sale that day during the event (please bring cash for these items). We look forward to seeing you there. Thank you for your continued support, we appreciate it so much.
Wishing a very Happy Birthday to our members and friends of SSFWC that are celebrating a birthday in February Janine G. Diana Z.

Happy November
Have a happy and safe Halloween
A little pre-Halloween fun (read the fortune in a mirror )
On Sunday, November 1st, we ‘fall back’. In addition to changing our clocks, we should also change the batteries in our smoke detectors and check the batteries in our flashlights. It’s also a good time to do any winterizing projects you have been thinking about.
UPDATE Evacuation orders have been lifted as of 5:25 pm. Please see comments for complete final update. A scary day for those living near our iconic Sign Hill. We hope that those that had to evacuate are doing well. We are glad everyone is safe.... Thank you to South San Francisco Fire Department and CAL FIRE for working so hard to contain the blaze. We appreciate your hard work (especially in the heat today). The evacuation order is still in effect while they complete their work and ensure everything is safe for you to return home. Edit to add: This fire has been named The Diamond Fire, which is 100% contained. Temporary evacuation center is located at MSB Social Hall, 33 Arroyo Drive, SSF.
Happy Monday One of the cornerstones of the SSFWC is to do things for others that improve our community and lift others up. Since today is Do Something Nice Day, it’s a perfect day to say Thank You to our members for sharing their volunteer spirit with the SSFWC ... Everyone could use a nice gesture or kind word, especially in these crazy times. "Three things in human life are important: the first is to be kind. The second is to be kind. And the third is to be kind." - Henry James
Happy First Day of October
Today is National Women’s Health & Fitness Day. Here are some tips on how to be active while social distancing: https://www.cdc.gov//how-to-be-physically-active-while-soc... Remember to eat your fruits and veggies, drink 8 glasses of water every day, get plenty of sleep and stay physically active.
Today is National Strawberry Cream Pie Day It’s a perfect day for it too. Hope everyone is staying cool (and drinking plenty of water ).
Happy First Day of Autumn Today is also the fall equinox A fallen leaf is nothing more than a summer’s wave goodbye." Unknown
