Interpreters are uniquely positioned to effect positive change, but what actions can we take, regardless of where we work or what we interpret, to overcome injustice, not only at our sites but throughout society? This panel discussion highlights accomplished interpreters who work to serve underserved populations, promote cultural understanding, and amplify voices for positive change. See more

We stand in solidarity with #BlackLivesMatter and protesters around the nation. We mourn the losses of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and so many others who have lost their lives to police violence.

The protests continue 60 years later and we still wait for equality. Such intolerable tragedies and injustices against George Floyd and countless others r...emind us that we must unite as a community to speak and act against racism. The California Christian Ministers Conference led a protest in 1960 against Jim Crow laws in America at a Woolworth store in Los Angeles. Jim Crow laws were state and local laws that enforced racial segregation following the Civil War and into the twentieth century. Happy Volunteer Appreciation Week! Thank you to our volunteers for your dedication in being stewards of the land and our communities. The park would not be wher...e it is today without these unique individuals' commitment. To our volunteers who have dedicated their time to habitat restoration, we wish you could visit and observe how the park's flourishing because of all your hard work in weed removal and planting native plants during the winter. To our volunteers who have created lasting programs at the park, our community engagement efforts are not the same without you. We miss creating art with the little ones, practicing walking meditation and healthy eating, as well as doing our laps around he park. We can't wait to engage with you again, our park partners and park stewards. Feliz Semana de Apreciación de Voluntarios! Gracias a nuestros voluntarios por su dedicación en ser administradores de la tierra y de nuestras comunidades. El parque no estaría donde está hoy sin el compromiso de estos individuos únicos.
