I can’t believe I get to say that I’m part of the @speedball_art demo artist team! No, like... my name is on a list of printers alongside print legends like @thebirdmachine and my #relationshipgoals dream team of @arsenalhandicraft. A HUGE thank you to Speedball for this incredible opportunity! Posted @withrepost @speedball_art Long Beach, CA artist, Alden Knight entered into his career as a screen printer by way of a less than traditional path, starting first as a musicia...n who needed to find a way to make and distribute his own merch. What ultimately evolved was him founding his print shop, Odd Petals DIY Creative Resources @oddpetals , Alden’s home for his own original artwork, graphic design, portable handmade poster presses, and of course, screen printing services. Screen printing is such a multi-dimensional art form, and is so accessible to different kinds of artists that learning it is almost like learning a universal language. When I saw that Speedball was putting together a program to teach others that language, I had to be involved. I am excited to join the Speedball Demo Artist team because it allows me to combine my passions of printing and teaching this fun and versatile art form to others who can use it to explore their own creativity. I look forward to answering questions from other DIY printers as well as seeing how thrilled people are when they get to pull their first screen print. Went back up to the farm for a few days this past weekend. We need a sign to hang by the road so I stenciled and painted something up. Now it’s Mom and Dad’s turn to put it all together and hang it by the road so people know where to find fresh fruit. Can’t wait to see it finished! @ Esparto, California

I can’t even begin to describe how amazing it is that I got to print a couple posters for @davekloc. Right before @meltdowncomics closed, @bae.romano took me so I could check out all the great comics but all I could do was stare at Dave’s posters on the wall. Every print was made of cleverly used line work, transparency layers to create colors that he didn’t even mix or print, and just some of the most wonderful art work that truly spoke to me. I got all obsessed with learnin...g his tricks and before moving to LA, @bae.romano and I even drove down just to go to one of his art shows. He was so cool and kind and generous and we left the show with the fullest of hearts. Cut to a year later and I built myself a poster press and reached out to Dave and holy crap I actually get to print some of his art on my press and it’s the damn coolest thing in the world. A HUGE thank you to @davekloc for the opportunity to print his art and learn all sorts of new things about screen printing posters. It really is the best and you’re one standup dude.
