Experience the American culture and travel to American landmarks with a J-1 Exchange Visitors Program! Alexis Shaine Jurado had her cultural exchange program at Sheraton Mission Valley San Diego Hotel and visited different places in California during her program. The picture was taken at the historical Santa Cruz Boardwalk. The boardwalk was built in 1904 by Fred Swanton, a local businessman, who saw the potential of saltwater bathhouses. His project encouraged many families to construct saltwater bathhouses in the area and the bathing tourism became extremely popular in the area since then! What’s your next travel destination in the USA?
During her cultural exchange program in the United States, Justine, had fun at the Skate Millennium Park, which is located just next to the famous Bean Cloud Gate in Chicago! Many cultural activities can be experienced during the winter season. Due to the current situation in the USA, we expect that more outdoor winter activities are going to reopen before December. Let us know in the comments if you have planned to travel or experience new activities during the upcoming winter season. Credits to Justine Noval for the picture!

The Hollywood Sign is an American cultural icon and landmark which stands for the glamour, optimism, and grandeur that has defined Hollywood and its movie industry since its creation. Although the Hollywood Sign was originally an ad to promote a housing development plan (Hollywoodland), it's appearance and purpose have evolved over time under the same aspirational message: "This is a place where magic is possible, where dreams can come true." What are destinations you wo...uld like to visit during a cultural exchange program in the United States? Special thanks to Kristia Joana Lania for sharing her photo with us!

On June 22, 2020, the White House issued a proclamation suspending some nonimmigrant visas, including J-1 intern, trainee programs, and the order is effective through December 31, 2020. Exchange Visitor Programs help American families while enabling American host businesses to remain open year-round. #SaveJ1 We invite you to join us in supporting vital cultural exchange programs. Our exchange visitor, Eunhye Lee, visited New York City and stopped by to take a picture in front of one of the most iconic new structures built in NYC. #FunFacts The construction for The Vessel started in 2017 and the structure was opened to the public in 2019. It is a new visitor attraction built in Manhattan and elaborate a structure similar to a honeycomb. The Vessel rises 16 stories and consists of 2500 steps and 80 landings for visitors to climb in order to enjoy an amazing view of NYC from the top.
