On this Memorial Day, let us not forget the brave men and women who fought for our country.

Today, May 7th, is Military Spouse Appreciation Day. Military spouses play a huge role in not only taking care of things while their loved ones are deployed, but also in providing a backbone of support and care during the tough times. Lets honor these military spouses who have made countless personal sacrifices to support the Armed Forces!

We are so excited to join CHOC's "Check-In Challenge" for Mental Health Awareness Month. Each week in the month of May we invite you to Check In with caregive...rs, strong friends, yourself, neighbors, and essential workers. This can be done in a multitude of ways such as texting, calling, emailing, video chatting, etc. to help people in your life feel supported, validated, and help to reduce feelings of isolation, depression, and anxiety that has intensified for many during the pandemic. This week you can participate by checking in with Caregivers - individuals who are always looking after others often put themselves last. Make them first on your list to check in! See more

In 1949, the U.S. Congress designated May as National Mental Health Awareness Month to spotlight mental health. The immediate catalyst was the large numbers of armed forces veterans who were suffering from mental health challenges. Mental health issues affect as many as one in four Americans. More people in the United States die from suicide than from traffic accidents or homicides, and twenty-two veterans take their lives each day. Join us this month as we share mental health resources and fight to end the stigma. To learn more about SFSC's mental health services, please visit ocstrongfamilies.org

CFF proudly stands with Orange County's heroic military families this holiday season many of whom face difficult challenges. We’re supporting Child Guidance C...enter's "Strong Families, Strong Children effort through their Adopt a Family Holiday Program. SFSC empowers military- and veteran-connected children, youth, and families to reach their full potential through innovative mental health programs and services.
