#Repost @lapd.swat with @get_repost Over three years ago LAPD SWAT established and hosted the first annual Southern California Hostage Rescue Symposium. Bringing together SWAT teams from around California and establishing the opportunity to train with one another, learn from each other, network, and debrief major incidents. August 29, 2019 the Riverside County Sheriff's Department along with the San Bernadino Sheriff's Department hosted the third annual HRT Symposium. The event was a great success, with nearly 300 hundred SWAT Officers present. To the Officers of the teams that participated, thank you for continuing the tradition. Never stop learning, always keep training, prepare for the fight, and remember the mission.

You will be missed brother #Repost @ocsheriffbarnes with @get_repost I’m saddened to announce the passing of OCSD Deputy Carlos Cammon. Deputy Cammon died last night after succumbing to injuries suffered during a SWAT tryout in 2013. Deputy Cammon, 29 years old and a six-year veteran of the Department at the time, was assigned to patrol in @ocsdstanton . He collapsed at SWAT tryouts on July 18, 2013, was taken to the hospital and never regained consciousness. In 2010,... Deputy Cammon received the Medal of Courage after he and three other deputies subdued a man armed with a knife who they saw assaulting a woman while off-duty at a restaurant in the city of Orange. Our Department family joins the Cammon family in grieving the loss of this brave young man. See more
