OCSD Bomb Squad

Today is National EOD Day. Today we remember and honor the fallen EOD Technicians who gave their lives in the performance of their duties.

It is not a common occurrence that we actually have the opportunity to celebrate a RETIREMENT of one of our K9 partners, especially one who has served as the longest working Explosives Detection K9 in the history of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department! It is a bittersweet moment indeed, but we congratulate our 13 year old Explosives Detection K9 Rico on his well earned retirement and wish him all the best in his relaxing days ahead. Spent the day on the range honing our firearms skills as part of our annual rifle recertification along with personnel from @ocsdk9unit, @ocsddanapoint and other members of the @ocsheriff Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT). @ Prado Olympic Shooting Park

During joint waterborne operations, the Orange County Sheriff's Department, CA has the capability to deploy Maritime Operations trained Bomb Techs / EDTK9 Teams and OCSD Harbor Patrol Public Safety Divers to ensure safe vessels or structures both above and below the waterline.
