IMPORTANT information- CORONAVIRUS 1. If you have a runny nose and sputum, you have a common cold 2. Coronavirus pneumonia is a dry cough with no runny nose. 3. This new virus is not heat-resistant and will be killed by a temperature of just 26/27 degrees. It hates the Sun.... 4. If someone sneezes with it, it takes about 6 feet before it drops to the ground and is no longer airborne. 5. If it drops on a metal surface it will live for at least 12 hours - so if you come into contact with any metal surface - wash your hands as soon as you can with a bacterial soap. 6. On fabric it can survive for 6-12 hours. normal laundry detergent will kill it. 7. Drinking warm water is effective for all viruses. Try not to drink liquids with ice. 8. Wash your hands frequently as the virus can only live on your hands for 5-10 minutes, but - a lot can happen during that time - you can rub your eyes, pick your nose unwittingly and so on. 9. You should also gargle as a prevention. A simple solution of salt in warm water will suffice. 10. Can't emphasis enough - drink plenty of water! Everyone should ensure your mouth & throat are moist, never dry. Take a few sips of water every 15 minutes at least. Why? Even if the virus gets into your mouth, drinking water or other liquids will wash them down through your throat and into the stomach. Once there, your stomach acid will kill all the virus. If you don't drink enough water more regularly, the virus can enter your windpipe and into the lungs. That's very dangerous. Please send and share this with family and friends.

It's been quite the learning process already but I am thrilled to share that the ENDEAVOR Health & Fitness website is fully up and running! As some may know, I ...recently traded in my career as an academic researcher to pursue my passion for fitness and extending that to adults and seniors 55 and over. My hope through the website is to provide a warm space to learn about fitness and nutrition, while also inspiring others to take action. Though the Programming is tailored to those of us 55+ who may be more deconditioned, there's plenty to explore for all ages! On the Blog we chat about...whatever comes to my mind, quite frankly. So far, we've discussed: the importance of exercise, how to navigate a Nutrition Facts Label, #FoodSwapFriday, and lastly, what it really means to be "busy." The blog is truly an ENDEAVOR space for all ages! Head to the Research page to stay on top of the latest articles related to exercise, nutrition, injury prevention, and lessons from centenarians. I couldn't let my academic research background go to waste so I dedicated an entire page! But don't be dissuaded if you are not accustomed to scientific reading. Each post is complete with a highlight section, study limitations for additional context, key word definitions for those of us less familiar with scientific reading, and a link to the full article. Finally, the About page tells you a bit more about me, my motivation, and passion for senior fitness. Follow us on social media (links below) and stay up to date by subscribing to emails on the website. I can't wait to see where this goes! Sincerely, Maryann

Full Disclosure is Key to a Safe Anesthesia Experience Patients sometimes neglect to share important health information with their anesthesia providers before surgery. You might not realize it but we need to know if you take supplements or medical marijuana for pain, or that you smoke or snore. We will not judge you, but for your safety, we need you to be completely honest about your health history. We'll ask you about: 1-Medications 2-Smoking... 3-Marijuana use 4-Alcohol 5-Snoring 6-Prior stroke/Heat stroke 7-Reaction to Anesthesia 8-Chronic Health Issues Ensuring your safety is our priority. If you have any issues and concerns, discuss them with the anesthesiologist before your surgery. See more
