It’s all about the details. Here we have high school volleyball player Brooke performing a rear foot elevated split squat or Bulgarian split squat. There are a few things we really like about the way Brooke is executing the exercise. 1. She’s getting enough depth which allows her to strengthen the entirety of the muscle and create optimum levels of tension. ... 2. Her body is properly angled in an athletic position. Although this can be done going straight down to target more of the glutes, the slight angle allows the entire lower extremity to be active which is more applicable to sport performance. 3.
