Thanks to our San Francisco Bay Area volunteers YOU have made a difference in our community by volunteering with One Brick! One Brick is much more than a website that posts volunteer opportunities. We’re a connector. We’re community builders, all because of YOU. *YOU have supported healthy families by collecting, sorting and distributing food to those in need. *YOU have planted trees to help preserve and protect our parklands.... *YOU have created homeless outreach kits. *YOU have served meals to the needy in a dignified environment. *YOU have helped raise money for individuals fighting cancer. *YOU have cleaned our public spaces to make them safe for use and safer for our environment. *YOU have encouraged literacy and supported incarcerated people by providing access to books. *YOU have helped to rebuild homes and communities. It is incredible to see the impact we make not only in our local community but across the country as well. One Brick does amazing work across our 9 chapters each and every day to help better our communities. One Brick provides critical volunteer support to hundreds of nonprofits each year. Without these volunteers many nonprofits wouldn’t be able to fulfill their all too important missions. We’d like to ask you to make a donation to One Brick so that we can continue to work together to build strong communities and support those in need. One Brick is 100% volunteer run and your donation will help us to cover our expenses and allow us to continue to work with our volunteers and nonprofit partners to keep building community. Please don’t wait, donate today! https://givebutter.com/onebrick2019 P.S - You can also support One Brick by shopping on Amazon using our link: OneBrick.org/amazon we will get a portion of your purchase donated to us! IMPORTANT: for this to work you must use this link to ensure we get the full donation (https://onebrick.org/amazon-details). Thanks in advance for your continued support of One Brick! We greatly appreciate it!

At the Crossroads is holding their client holiday party on Tuesday, December 10th, and are looking for folks who are able to volunteer their time (& resources) baking and then drop the items off at their office on either Monday, 12/9 or Tuesday, 12/10. They ask volunteers to individually wrap all baked items in plastic bags or Saran Wrap. Soft baked items (without nuts) - cookies, brownies, bars are preferred as some of their clients are unable to eat hard cookies, etc. If you are interested in participating/ baking items, please email Carson at [email protected]

Shiver me timbers! Monsters Bash 2019 Event Crew Openings! The USS Hornet Sea, Air & Space Museum Present MONSTERS BASH 2019 on Oct. 26. RSVP to be a part of the East Bay’s Premier Halloween Party. This is not an official 1B event, just an option to have fun volunteering to support one of our esteemed partners. ... Thank you! https://www.signupgenius.com/go/508094caea92ca6fe3-monsters Fun fact: Apollo 11 recovery of the astronauts and spacecraft was on the USS Hornet! The challenge of sending astronauts to the Moon’s surface for the first time and bringing them safely back to earth did not end when Apollo 11’s command module Columbia splashed down in the central Pacific Ocean. The U.S. Navy personnel aboard the aircraft carrier USS Hornet (CV-12) faced numerous challenges in recovering the astronauts and returning them to port in quarantine. Hear a helicopter pilot, diver, and flight surgeon recall the triumph of ensuring astronauts Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins, and Buzz Aldrin completed their momentous voyage, allowing the billions around the world collectively holding their breath to exhale. @USSHornetMuseum
