To help us celebrate the holiday season and usher in Winter Break, the Elementary’s instrumental music team is proud to present Oakwood School’s first Virtual Holiday Concert & Sing-a-long! Performances featured 4th Grade String Quintet, 5th & 6th Grade Chamber Ensemble, 6th Grade Glee, 5th & 6th Choir and a special performance by Oakwood’s talented 1st Grade Assistant and Music teacher, Corbin Jones, and his band, The Corbin Jones Big Band! #EmbracetheMoment

Earlier this month, a contingent of four student delegates attended the Student Diversity Leadership Conference (SDLC). Alongside the SDLC, Oakwood School also took part in the NAIS -- National Association of Independent Schools People of Color Conference (PoCC) which provides development and networking opportunities for teachers, faculty, and independent school administrators who identify as POC and allies. The Performance Arts Department hosted original cast members of the hit Broadway musical, Ragtime, to do a Q&A with Oakwood School Choraliers, Middle School Glee and HS Orchestra. Students are collaborating on the fantastic anthem, Make Them Hear You from Ragtime for their Winter Concert in January!
