NEW GRANT OPPORTUNITY! Belonging in Oakland: A Just City Cultural Fund will provide two-year grants of $30,000-$50,000 per year and networking support to Oakland-based BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) artists/cultural practitioners who work deeply in and with their communities to co-create aspirations to build a racially just city. This Fund recognizes that this moment is an ideal one to ask, and listen, as Oakland artists respond to the vital question: How might w...e imagine a truly racially just and equitable Oakland where all belong? Today, the National Endowment for the Arts announces more than $52 million in funding for state and jurisdictional arts agencies and regional arts organizations, the first recommended awards of the American Rescue Plan (ARP). These funds are designed to support the arts sector as it recovers from the devastating impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Guidelines and application materials for a second phase of American Rescue Plan funding that will be awarded directly from the Arts Endowment to nonprofit arts organizations are expected to be available in June 2021 pending review.

Application Deadline for Individual Artists and Arts Nonprofit Grants Extended The application deadline for the Oakland CARES Fund for Artists and Arts Nonprofits impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic has been extended to 1 p.m. on Friday, October 23. The grant program with distribute awards of up to $20,000 to arts nonprofits with annual budgets of less than $2.5 million, while supporting individual artists with grants of up to $3,000 each.
