Exciting news from Oak Creek! Our inspiring and lovely Para-student, Alex Henry, has found her dressage partner Call Me Hobbes to kick off the 2019 USDF and US Para Dressage season! We can not thank Lisa Hendricks and Delaney Vaden enough for leasing this beautiful soul to the Henry’s. They are already such an incredible team, and we know we will see great things this year! This was a crucial first step for Alex to gain the experience and confidence of an upper level Dress...age rider. Her goal is to learn, compete, and grow all she can with Hobbes and start making her way toward her Para Olympic goals! So watch out for this team at all the USDF shows and schooling shows! Alex and Hobbes will be competing in the able-bodied classes as well as the Para tests when offered. We will post her schedule so her cheering crew can come out and support this amazing pair! #teamalex #usparadressage #2024olympics See more
Here are some of the great costumes from the annual Oak Creek Pony Pageant! Everyone looked amazing!
Carmela in the start box cheering on Grace Perkins in her final (and successful) trip around a training level course with her beautiful mount, Finley!
So many words to describe this girl and this horse... but as a team all I can think of at the moment is LOVE. They both love each other irrevocably, and have come so far together. Kiowa, you have given this girl a way to run, jump, and fly in a way that most will never understand. Thank you for teaching her that she does not need two legs... she needs four hooves in her life. And even though there are exciting and new things happening, we will always be so grateful for your life lessons, the good times and hard times, and your unwavering love for our Alex. Thank you Keri Goldman for your incredible support! And to everyone that has had a part in the Team Alex journey this far!
Go #teamalex!!! We are so proud of you!
Grace Perkins and Killinick Native (Finley) galloping around Hisken’s Eventful Acres Saturday morning! This pair has grown so much in their short time together, big things ahead! Thank you Karen Wilson Hisken and Rod Hisken for letting our girls find their confidence at your amazing facility!
Oak Creek Cross Country Camp #1 in the books for 2018! What a week! Four days of fun, independence and learning for these girls at the beautiful Eventful Acres. Carmela and Shayna saw so much improvement in every one of the campers, and we are so proud of their accomplishments! Cross country, houseboats, tubing, pj rides, s’mores, and ponies!! Perfect
Oak Creek had a successful weekend at Twin Rivers Horse Trials. Seika Streets took home the blue in Junior Beginner Novice and Grace Perkins locked in her 3rd place ribbon with a beautiful xc round, just a few seconds under optimum time! All our riders came home with accomplishments and homework for the next one! This weekend reminds us all how precious our time is with our beloved horses and ponies. Our youngest (9) had to witness and learn about the lowest part of our spor...t at only her second event. She understood how quickly they can be taken from us and why we must never take them for granted. She walked back to her stall, hugged her pony and went home without a ribbon, but with a huge smile. We are so thankful to know that our next generation of young riders will grow up with the love for the horses first, all else second, because that is the true heart of eventing. Prayers to all of Walterstown Don’s connections, rest peacefully . See more
