"TEN WEEKS" is a docuseries that follows a cohort of recruits over the course of ten weeks in their journey from untested, young adults into soldiers.

Last week we celebrated the 100th-anniversary of adopting the Nineteenth Amendment, which granted women the right to vote. In honor of this anniversary, NYC Department of Veterans' Services announced a special four-episode podcast series: "The Health of Women Veterans". Throughout this series, SITREP NYC will spotlight women who are working to overcome service-related trauma. Listen as women veterans tell stories of illness, combat injury, PTSD, and perseverance. All episodes will be available TODAY, Monday, 8/31, and you can subscribe to SITREP NYC below, and wherever you get your podcasts!

The series, Building Your Future with the GI Bill, coincides with the third anniversary of the Colmery Act, signed into law three years ago today, August 17, 2017. The new three-part series serves as a roadmap to support the journey from education to employment. The Cohen Veterans Network, a not-for-profit philanthropic organization, serves them by providing high-quality, accessible and integrated mental health care. Through a network of outpatient mental health clinics, trained clinicians deliver evidence-based care to treat mental health conditions for couples, children and adolescents, individuals, and family units. That is why VA is working to remove barriers and improve access to essential services. Vets Chat and Chew is a program for All Veterans and Active Military Personnel. If you are feeling depressed, stressed, or anxious, have trouble sleeping, or are confused about healthy eating, Vets Chat & Chew is a program designed to teach you how food can make you feel. Cook a meal, share it together, and make some new friends in the process! The program consists of six weekly 2 hour sessions. Food information will be introduced that can help you start to feel better. You will create and share a meal together and learn food lifestyle changes from the techniques of a nutrition consultant and learn how to cook the meal from a professional chef. With continued advances in technology, apps for smartphones and other mobile devices can provide an ideal way for Veterans to manage aspects of their wellness outside of traditional in-person appointments with a health care provider. Apps offer support and information at users’ fingertips, wherever they are 24 hours a day, seven days a week. VA has a suite of mobile apps that are readily available and accessible to all Veterans who are in the VA health care system. In addition to VA’s Telehealth offerings, Veterans are encouraged to explore the following ways to seek virtual mental health support, check those out in the link below.
