I got the different looking squash in the farm box... its a golden hubbard! And we also got dates in box, my daughter just happened ask for walnuts in the shell at the store, and we had baby arugala on the garden that needed to be thinned.... Viola! Brown butter date and walnut sauce over roasted golden hubbard topped with arugala and shaved Pecorino Romano! Delicious!

About fifteen percent of women struggle with endometriosis, some have severe symptoms while others experience lesser symptoms. Common symptoms include dysmenorrhea (cramps and pelvic pain due to menstruation), tender ovaries, heavy flow, painful intercourse, and even infertility. There are many factors that can aggravate symptoms of endometriosis including lack of exercise, a high fat diet, IUD use, estrogen imbalance, immune dysfunction, and prenatal exposure to estrogens or... endocrine disruptors, and decreased liver metabolism. In order to support endometriosis symptoms a reduction in inflammatory foods while increasing anti-inflammatory foods is the first step. Then supporting the detoxification process as well as estrogen detoxification would be the next steps. The most inflammatory foods include sugar, dairy (conventional), grains, meat (conventional), and alcohol. Initially cutting out sugar, dairy, and alcohol, and greatly reducing grains and meat would be the most helpful. Make sure the meat is pastured or grass-fed and the grains are organic. Anti-inflammatory foods include berries (along with grapes & cherries), fatty fish, olive oil, avocados, turmeric, green tea, chocolate (dark), leafy greens, cruciferous veggies, and certain nightshades: peppers and tomatoes. If sensitive to nightshades, then avoid those. Foods that increase Phase II Liver detox include carrots, beets, artichokes, lemons, dandelion greens, watercress, burdock root, and cabbage. Foods that contain Indole-3-carbinol (an estrogen detoxification substance) are broccoli, cabbage, Brussel sprouts, and cauliflower. Quercetin (anti-oxidant, immune supportive and anti-inflammatory) containing foods include leeks, garlic, and onions. Other nutritives that support symptoms would be ground flaxseeds, evening primrose oil, chaste tree tincture, selenium, B-vitamins, motherwort, and liver supportive lipotrophics such as choline, betaine, and methionine.
