I missed it by two days... better late than never, right? Mental Health Awareness Day was 2-days ago.. and I didn’t post anything about it. I am a big advocate in creating a healthy mental state and space for myself and for those around me... because to an extent.. we ALL have varying degrees of some type of mental problem. When my treatment door closes.. a lot of you, myself included.. use our time together to sort out all the little pieces that are in disarray in our life, ...big or small.. we talk, we cry, we laugh, I extract your face... I learn from you and you learn from me. It’s a beautiful symbiotic relationship that help us ease the little hardships that we are going through mentally. A lot of us have issues with anxiety, depression, and dealing with trauma that we think WE are the only one who is going through it. Well.. I’m here to tell you... it’s not true! We all have stories that shaped us into what and who we are today... and to be honest.. it’s THOSE EXACT STORIES that can be the key to helping, even saving, another person. Trust me.. I’ve witnessed it first hand myself. Whatever you need mentally.. DO IT! Talking to someone, journaling, disconnecting, whatever it is.. DO YOU FIRST.. because at the end of the day.. I would rather hug you than miss you. You’re not alone in finding your balance.
