A Florida sheriff illegally jailed Peter Sean Brown, a United States citizen born in Philadelphia, so that ICE could deport him to Jamaica, a country he has no ties to. It nearly worked.

#USCIS is being weaponized into a #immigration enforcement agency. Under the new agency policy, if you apply for an immigration benefit and your application is denied, you could be placed in removal proceedings. Also, when filing an application for immigration benefits, if an officer believes you did not file sufficient evidence to support the application, he may deny the application without first giving you an opportunity to provide the evidence. Essentially, with these new policies, Trump is turning USCIS into an enforcement agency by giving officers the power to deny applications and then refer those denied for deportation. It is now more important than ever to seek legal advice before filing from a licensed immigration attorney.
