10 weeks ago my life changed in ways I could never have imagined. I birthed into this world my beautiful baby girl. As challenging as pregnancy and labor were, they were a walk in the park compared to the next stage of this early postpartum period. The art of becoming a mother (matrescence) has been physically and emotionally the hardest thing I’ve every done and at the same time my proudest achievement. Saying goodbye to my old life and embracing my new life and the uncondit...ional love I have for my baby girl has been life altering, providing me with so much self growth. I have experienced a range of emotions including exhaustion, overwhelm, sadness, happiness, hopefulness and hopelessness. Only thanks to my village have I had the strength to get through these early weeks. You know who you are but special thanks go to my wonderful partner in crime Ariel who is the most incredible father to our daughter and I have never been more in love with him.
