Public health director says at least until May 1, possibly June 1 The Sacramento County Public Health Department plans to extend the stay-at-home order to the end of April. Director Dr. Peter Beilenson said depending on how the county progresses, it may be extended to May 31.... Health officials project the number of cases will peak in the next two to three weeks. There are currently three ways people can be tested in the county: The county public health department Hospitals which use national labs called Quest Diagnostics and LabCorp Verily Life Sciences Drive-thru Beilenson said the county will soon run the private drive-thru testing site. As of Monday evening, there are 224 confirmed cases in Sacramento County and seven deaths. Those who passed away were either over 65 years old or had underlying health issues. KCRA 3' Vicki Gonzalez spoke with Beilenson on Monday about the county's response to the COVID-19 outbreak. Below is an excerpt of the interview: Q: Why has there been a roughly 60 case increase since Friday? Beilenson: The main reason why the 224 is up from about 60 (cases) three or four days ago is predominantly because of the additional testing. There are still far, far more people who have COVID-19 than we are still able to test for. Q: How many tests has the county conducted? Beilenson: We’ve only tested 1,500 people in the entire six-week period at our health department lab due to a lack of testing availability. We’d want to be having in the range of 15,000 or so at any given time so we can test all of those who are symptomatic. We are up from 20 a day originally in the health department lab only in the entire county, to probably 500 or so a day. So, we would want to get to several thousand people a day. https://www.kcra.com//sacramento-county-plans-to-/31984399

Sacramento The Franchise Tax Board (FTB) today announced special tax relief for California taxpayers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Affected taxpayers are granted an extension to file 2019 California tax returns and make certain payments until June 15, 2020, in line with Governor Newsom’s March 12 Executive Order. This relief includes moving the various tax filing and payment deadlines that occur on March 15, 2020, through June 15, 2020, to June 15, 2020. This include...s: Partnerships and LLCs who are taxed as partnerships whose tax returns are due on March 15 now have a 90-day extension to file and pay by June 15. Individual filers whose tax returns are due on April 15 now have a 60-day extension to file and pay by June 15. Quarterly estimated tax payments due on April 15 now have a 60-day extension to pay by June 15. The FTB’s June 15 extended due date may be pushed back even further if the Internal Revenue Service grants a longer relief period. Taxpayers claiming the special COVID-19 relief should write the name of the state of emergency (for example, COVID-19) in black ink at the top of the tax return to alert FTB of the special extension period. If taxpayers are e-filing, they should follow the software instructions to enter disaster information. The FTB will also waive interest and any late filing or late payment penalties that would otherwise apply. https://www.ftb.ca.gov//2020-2-more-time-to-file-pay-for-c See more
