We did the first ever on campus, outdoor Prom for Chico High School last Saturday. We got rained on a bit but no damage to our lighting or sound equipment. Check out the drone pic of our lighting design. This was done with gobo images projected using lekos and wireless battery powered up lights. We also ran 8 moving heads and a couple of effect lights on the circle truss and a large sound system.

Here is Episode #4 of #Bob&BriansJamRoom. This is the final song performed during our first session with Brian Illes on drums, Mick McBassman (Mick Nantel) on bass and lead vocals, Peter Trulin on guitar and Bob Tolar on keys. This was also the most intense rock song, Don't Tell Me You Love Me by Night Ranger. We learned a lot during this first run of songs. In the future, we will do fewer songs per group of musicians so it's not so repetitive and move the camera angles around so the videos can be edited in completely different ways. The next session is on May 1st and will feature Rob and Molly Harrison with Peter Trulin joining us again on guitar and we will be performing "It's My Life" by Gwen Stefani, "One" by U2 and "Carnival" by Natalie Merchant. Thanks for watching and sharing. https://youtu.be/1yc4SqV0GcM

Just sold this Priamacoustic London 12 panel kit to Rob Harrison for their music room. They also come in grey and black. Well match any online price for Primacoustic products. They absorb 100% of so I nd that hit them. Very effective and easy to install.

Hi Friends. Well with all of 2020's events cancelled indefinitely we had to pivot hard. Focusing entirely on our systems integration division, Matt Franklin and myself, Bob Tolar, have been selling and installing audio visual systems all over the North State. Its going very well. Matt Franklin and I are a great team and our skills compliment each other, leaving us with nothing we cannot nail down with excellence. In the last three months we have completed a new website, ...upgraded the Oroville State Theater Lighting Rig, completed conference room installations for Farm Credit Services Offices in Colusa and Willows, The Sierra Nevada Cheese Factory in Willows, Three Complete Church renovations, just finished First Assembly Chico today. Also a total sound system and security replacement at the Rawbar in Chico, North Rim Crossfit and over a dozen classroom modernizations at several schools. We just found out today, our bid was accepted to install all new sound, video and lighting systems into the newly renovated Oroville Municipal Auditorium. We are one of the very few AV contractors with a C-10 electrical contractors license, which helped us win that one. Lots more in the works that I must keep quiet for now...I should make a T-shirt that says "I own an event production company and I survived Covid!"...Thanks for your support! http://nsav-installers.com/ See more

I know everyone is hurting right now. But our industry, the event industry, was the first to get shut down and will be the last to come back long after every other aspect of the economy has recovered. As a result hundreds of thousands of workers have no income, many of which were independent contractors who have no unemployment benefits and even big companies from venues to artist support companies like tour bus, tour management and production houses like us are dying, not ...to mention smaller outfits like caterers, DJs and event rental businesses like our local event rental services are going to be out of work for most of the next year potentially. Even major equipment manufacturers are in danger of folding and losing decades of technology, r&d, product development and employees including speaker & console, lighting and staging manufacturers. No one is thinking about us in congress and there are no plans to support our industry. The supply chain is collapsing! This movement is sweeping the nation and you will see venues and businesses being painted red with light to communicate to congress that we are in serious jeopardy. #WeMakeEvents #RedAlertRESTART #ChicoPerformances See more

Here is an elaborate and complex acoustic treatment upgrade we recently did for the Burban Kitchen in the new Miriam Park project for Dan Gonzales from Fifth Sun Clothing Company. It was a largely stone, steel and glass room that was very loud. Now it sounds right as rain.

This Primacoustic treatment really toned down the reverb and noise in our office. For a few hundred bucks. Call us if you have a need for the same.

Here is the end result of our dramatic office remodel project. It was emotional for me to hang the huge number of certificates of appreciation and letters from the community over the many years we have served this region. We are making many strides to adjust our business offerings to survive without any events to rely on, by focusing on our systems integration, sales and installation business. Please keep us in mind if you know anyone who is seeking audio visual upgrades or acoustic treatment at schools, businesses or churches so we can service their needs and get through this tough time. I and my core staff are still employed and appreciate your support.

North State AV, Inc is an event company. When significant events occur, they call us. We are great at what we do, we have a very high quality staff, whom our customers love, and have a huge inventory of really cool state of the art equipment that allow us to pull many options from our toolbox to customize your event and make a huge impact on your audience like no one else can do, north of Sacramento for 3 times the money. As a result we were slated to have the best year ...Continue reading

I've had so many calls and my wife keeps telling me she ran into people who ask how our business is doing with the Corona Virus mayhem going on. Our business is based on events which are public gathering oriented. Well our entire calendar has cancelled. 2 months in advance and counting at this point. We are praying that Chico State Commencement, The Red Bluff Round Up and major annuals like that happen as we rely on them to set us back in the black after the slow season, ...never more than now. We have literally no events and my staff is scared I'm sure as are so many people across the nation are. To make matters worse we just demoed our office inside our warehouse down to studs to rebuild it, literally a week before this situation popped. I have no choice but to finish that project and don't want to be stuck with a bunch of half ass compromises for the next ten years so we're doing it right. But with that said, we have great credit, normally buy $100k in gear a year and currently are out of debt. So we have elected to utilize our talented core staff to build the new office infill ourselves instead of hiring contractors to do everything and it is going to be very classy and beautiful and the amount we will owe, paying all the operating overhead and our normal paychecks is not much more than we would owe if we had hired contractors to do the job and were working our normal gigs after about the next month it will take to finish it. After that I stack up $25k a month in debt but I have decided it is worth taking that on so my people are safe secure and paid throughout the next 4 months. It's all about how long this lasts, right? We are not alone. I know many of your are facing the same situation and are not as lucky as we are to have all the ducks lined up to be able to handle it. I know DJ's, caterers and venues staff who are literally out of work and applying for unemployment that will not even come close to covering their bills. I can sustain us for about 4 months before I will no longer be willing to stack up the debt. My message is this. When we get the all clear please go out and patronize events, don;t cancel your wedding in August and when it's politically acceptable go out spend a few bucks at a local restaurant or a show. If we don't all do that a little, we will face our rich entertainment and charity event community being set back years and companies like mine that had 90% market share and for which there is no affordable alternative will be gone as an option creating a serious barrier to rebuilding certain industries that make our community fun and vibrant . I wish you all the best and hope you and your families are hanging in there. Thank you for supporting us these 30 years. See more
