We are half way through our North Hills Virtual Basketball Camp! We have over 50 participants in Grades K-8. We look forward to continuing to learn and grow in basketball and in our faith!

Trunk or Treat Drive-Thru is next Saturday, October 31 from 2 - 5 PM. Wondering how you can help? Here are a few ways to get involved: Pray for the event, volunteers, and families that will be on our campus. Donate candy; bags of individually wrapped pieces can be dropped off to the Church Office or Sunday at our Outdoor Service.... Decorate a trunk with your life group. Help direct traffic at the event. We are so thankful to be able to have Awana outdoors and socially distanced. Last night, we had our Sports Night! Our clubbers dressed up in all of their favorite sports attire. What are you thankful for this week?

Be present - two words that have spoken strongly to me in this past season. Its been the theme of our last couple pre-service huddles with the team, and personally its challenged me to shift my focus during these times. It can be very tough to be present when we’re living in a reality that we no longer recognize. It can be especially tough to be present when we’ve experienced loss in this season as well. There’s a lot of noise right now, lots of anger and fear; and while it... may be easier to fall into worry, God calls us to be present in the midst of the chaos. Even more importantly, he calls us to pray. A song I’ve meditated on lately is @hillsongunited’s Another in the Fire, which is based on the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. (Daniel 3) As the 3 men were thrown into the fire, they refused to lose faith in God, accepting the reality that was forced on them. But there was another in the fire, standing alongside them, who walked with them THROUGH and OUT of the fire. Let’s approach this season with trust. Let us be present in this current reality and let it lead us to pray. Let us realize what we cannot control and turn to the One who IS in control.
