North County Dental Surgery Center Community and Employee Health & Safety Update: COVID-19 PREPAREDNESS We know this is an anxious time for our community and our hearts go out to those who are ill in the nation and the world. YOUR HEALTH AND SAFTEY IS OUR TOP PRIORITY. As we do our part to contain the spread of COVID-19 Virus, we want to remind you to call us to reschedule your appointment if you or your child has a fever, or any signs of a cold of flu. If this becomes nec...essary, we will be as flexible as possible in rearranging the appointment. If need be, we can function remotely to deal with many needs, such as, orthodontic and dental evaluations, insurance and billing matters, and scheduling issues. Our highest priority at SmileBuilders and North County Surgery Center is, and always has been, safety and for all the well-being of our patients, your families, and our employees. Be assured that our office follows strict sanitary and sterilization procedures. The use of hand washing is always required prior to entering the treatment area at the beginning of shifts and after any breaks and between patients. Our Pediatric Dentists and Dental Assistants practice good respiratory hygiene, and wear gloves and masks while treating patients. Personal lunch and snack items are placed in the staff lounge before entering the treatment areas, front desk, and the staff washes their hands before and after eating food in the lounge. Additionally, our clinical employees are required to wear laundered coats. Our dentists wear newly laundered apparel. In addition, to our routine cleaning pattern, we are now wiping down commonly touched surfaces (reception desks, door knobs, pens, kids play area, video games, i-pads, TV screens, and furniture) with professional grade disinfectants hourly. Our offices are also professionally cleaned every week. All dental tools are placed in sterilization bags or metal canisters before they are sterilized and only opened when the patient is in the treatment area. We provide sick leave benefits and monitor to ensure employees who are ill do not come to work. We ask again for our patients to follow best practices at school and home, such as: Frequently washing your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds Keeping surfaces clean Sneezing or coughing into a tissue or your elbow Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. Most importantly, keeping your child home when they are sick with flu-like symptoms, including a fever of 100 degrees or higher, shortness of breath, and coughing Change your toothbrush if you haven’t been feeling well. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we navigate this fast-moving and ever-changing issue. Dr Marjan Rashedi and Management

Dr Rashedi, Dr Coleman, our Lead RDA Jessica and Tanya our front office (not pictured) seeing emergency patients over this past weekend #dreamteam. We know this is a time of uncertainty and we understand that dental pain or a dental emergency can come at some of the most inconvenient times. We will be here for our Pediatric Patients who experience an emergency and we are happy to help. Stay Safe, Stay Healthy! We will get through this together! #dentalemergency #dentalemergency dentalemergency #pediatricdentalcare #DentalER #covid19 #sandiegopediatricdentist #pediatricdentistry
The safety of our families, our team, and our community is the highest priority. On March 15th, 2020, several State dental organizations across the country, including California, began strongly recommending suspension of all non-emergency dental care for the next two weeks. In an effort to ‘flatten the curve’ and help prevent the spread of COVID-19, our Ambulatory Dental Surgery Center has been closed to non-emergent operations since Monday, March 16th, 2020. We will remain c...losed to non-emergent operations until further notice. We are one of many dental practices in the area to suspend non-emergency operations, and we feel it is important as it is in the best interest for the health and safety of our patients, and our team, and our community as a whole. If you or your child(ren) has an appointment during this closure, one of our team members will be reaching out to you to get you or your child(ren) rescheduled. If you or your child are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, please dial 911. If you or your child experiences a dental emergency such as tooth pain or a dental related accident, please call our office. If you call during a time when staff is not available to answer, our emergency number is listed on our voicemail and is (760) 855-9019. Please leave a message and the doctor on call or a team member will reach out to you to address the emergency as needed. We truly appreciate your understanding and support as we all try to navigate through this unforeseen time and we are sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause, but it is imperative that as a community, we slow the spread of this virus, and that requires extreme measures. We remain committed to the safety of you and your family! Stay Home and Stay Healthy! Sincerely, Dr Marjan Rashedi and the entire North County Dental Surgery Center team
