Attention UBER and LYFT drivers Uber/Lyft drivers and other independent contractors may get more protection and benefits including Workers Compensation coverage. Assembly Bill 5 passed by state, Governor Newsom has to yet sign. Means more "independent workers" (paid via 1099) will qualify under the employee classification.
