Have you gotten your tickets yet for tomorrow’s Veterans Appreciation Dinner? If not, maybe we can tempt you with more dessert! Yesterday we showed you the bourbon fudge. Today, gorgeous cupcakes and cookies by Wendy and Phyllis. Veteran made - thank you for your service, and your desserts!

What better place to be at 6:30 in the morning - the Oceanside Pier for Bike the Coast. Once again the event is benefiting NOLAH. Come on by our booth, or join us in the beer garden. And pick up some great food as Oceanside Main Street hosts Taste of Oceanside in the food court.

DENNIS' KITCHEN ADA REMODEL HAS BEGUN! THANK YOU! to our NOLAH volunteers who helped with fundraising events, to the San Diego Saints Fans who have hosted raffles, and Fast Times for donating Saints-themed beach cruisers for the raffle and contributed a portion of game-day tabs to NOLAH. We'll keep you updated on the construction, and let you when we schedule Dennis' "Welcome Home" party.

We'd like to give a shout out to the sponsors who made last week's 8th Annual Veterans Appreciation Dinner a success! First, Fast Times on Clairemont Drive. Fast Times closed its doors for the day so that they could accommodate the 400+ people at the event. Thank you Mark, Shawn, Mike, and Pasqual! Thank you also to San Diego Saints Fans, County of San Diego, BlueFrog Band, Courage to Call, Abbey Party Rents, Fifty-Two East Eatery, and San Pasqual Winery for your support. Thanks to our photography/media team, Barry Baron and Bob Morey. And thank you to the Mira Mesa High School Air Force Junior ROTC Cadets, who not only lent us their labor but spent time with our veterans, active duty, and families letting them know how much they mean to us. The event photos are now available online at: http://waveourflag.com/gallery/fasttimesevent/

These veterans are why we do what we do - the Veterans Appreciation Dinner and our mission to provide ADA modifications for veterans' homes. Army and Navy, both World War II veterans over 90 years old. They attended our dinner in their original uniforms, and charmed everyone there. The Army veteran on the left was enjoying a beer. When asked if he would like a beer also, the Navy veteran replied "No, I'm the Designated Driver. Can't lose my license at my age!" Bless them for their service, and for spreading joy at our dinner.
