Please SHARE to your Facebook page as an announcement. It is very important that this gets seen by high school youth that are graduating and who entered into the Delayed Entry Program for military enlistment and now changed their minds and want to get out! --------------------------------------------------------------------- Change Your mind and want to get out of the Delayed Enlistment/Future Soldier Program? If you signed up for the Delayed Entry Program DEP (or the Army’s ...Future Soldiers Training Program) and then changed your mind, watch out for recruiters who say you can’t get out of it, or that you must report to boot camp to be released. Neither is true. To quit the DEP, there are simple steps you should take before your date to report for basic training. Don’t expect your recruiter to help you, and you should NOT go to a military base if you are told to report there to get released. For free help getting out of the DEP, first talk to a counselor by contacting the GI Rights Hotline, (877) 447-4487 and leave a message that you want to get out of the Delayed Entry Program with your name and contact phone number and YOU WILL BE CALLED BACK. If you need to talk about your situation quickly, call Call the Military Law Task Force @ 619-463-2369 and talk to a counselor ASAP. https://www.commondreams.org//over-bodies-children-god-wil Over the Bodies of Children: God Willing We'll Have Fun Tomorrow In the latest manifestation of a ...savage, years-long Gaza strategy they call mowing the grass," Israel has now killed from the aloof air - often using U.S. made weaponry - at least 212 Palestinians, including 61 children, 36 women, two doctors, 10 members of one family and 17 members of another. They have also wounded over 1,200, left tens of thousands homeless, and reportedly targeted roads leading to the main hospital to prevent injured Palestinians from getting treated, thus brutally clarifying to a both-sides-beguiled media that, "THIS IS NOT A CONFLICT," but genocide. Among those killed without warning in attacks Sunday night were multiple generations of the al-Qawlaq family; the youngest victim, Qusay Sameh al-Qawlaq, was 6 months old, and the oldest was 84-year-old Saadiya Yousef al-Qawlaq. Two prominent doctors were also killed; so were 10 members of a family, including eight children preparing to celebrate the end of Ramadan: "They put on their Eid clothes and went to celebrate it with their uncle, just like any innocent children would do." For a resurgent Palestinian resistance, the slaughter again proves "no one is privileged, no one is safe" under an Occupation that is "trying to score a victory over the bodies of children." War after war after war. Bombing after bombing after bombing. You build a house, they destroy it. You raise a child, they kill him, says one traumatized survivor of the 2014 assault in the movie 'Killing Gaza.' "This struggle, before it (is) political or historical or ideological, (is) a struggle for our humanity."

A House Armed Service Committee (HASC) hearing on May 19th heard from witnesses on only one side of the debate over whether to end draft registration or extend it to young women as well as young men. But despite the one-sided panel of witnesses, questions and comments from members of Congress highlighted the failure of the ongoing attempt to get men to register for a future military draft, and the lack of any feasible way to enforce a future military draft of men or women. https://nnomy.org//953-house-hearing-on-selective-service. #SelectiveService #NoDraftWomen #EliminateTheDraft #WomenForPeace

Commemorated on the last Monday in May, Memorial Day was first observed in 1866, called Decoration Day in 1868. In 1967, federal law officially made it the time to honor America's fallen men and women. More on that below. Veterans Day was formerly Armistice Day (Remembrance Day in Europe), commemorating WW I's end on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of the year in 1918 when guns on both went silent, or were supposed to. First observed in America in 1919, it bec...ame a legal holiday in 1938. In June, 1954, Congress changed its name to Veterans Day. Both days, in fact, dishonor America's war dead, omitting why they fought and died in vain, sacrificing their lives for imperial conquest, plunder, and new ones in an endless cycle of gratuitous violence, militarism, brutality, and destruction for power and profit. https://rense.com/general94/memorial.htm #MemorialDay | #MemorialDay21 | #EndWar | #ResistWar | #NNOMYpeace

From the person who approved the greatest single war crime in history: Since war is the world's most terrible scourge, we should do all in our power to prevent its recurrence. It was the hope of mankind that with the cessation of hostilities of World War II the way would be open to founding a permanent peace. Instead, that war has left the world in a state of continued unrest. Accordingly, we feel the need of turning in humble suppliance to Almighty God for help and guidance.... In recognition of this need, the Congress has fittingly provided, in a joint resolution which I approved on May 11, 1950, that Memorial Day, which has long been set aside for paying tribute to those who lost their lives in war, shall henceforth be dedicated also as a day for Nation-wide prayer for permanent peace. The Congress has also requested that the President issue a proclamation calling upon the people of the United States to observe Memorial Day in that manner. #MemorialDay | #MemorialDay21 | #EndWar | #ResistWar | #NNOMYpeace
