Since the inception of the Vina Helitack program in 1974, the CAL FIRE Tehama-Glenn Unit has undergone substantial growth, and required an updated facility to meet current demands. The Unit’s central location allows firefighters to respond quickly to emergencies and fires in surrounding counties. Nichols, Melburg & Rossetto (NMR) Architects are proud of the newly constructed, modern helitack facility. Nichols, Melburg & Rossetto has awarded their annual $1,000 college scholarships to recent high school graduates in Redding, Chico, Santa Rosa, and Monterey, where NMR has office locations. All recipients are attending college and/or university programs as full-time students in the 2020-2021 school year, and are pursuing studies in the fields of Architecture, Structural Engineering, or Interior Design. This year’s recipients include Mason Thau, who is attending UC Berkley for... a degree in Structural Engineering and a minor in Architectural Design. Elena Silverman will be attending Montana State University to major in Architecture. William Bearden will be attending Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo to pursue a degree in Architecture. Hebron Ferrier has enrolled at UC San Diego, majoring in Architecture.
