I hope everyone had a great #tacotuesday and a safe Memorial Day weekend. Today we got two orders of 4 for $5 @barrios_redtacos and chicken taco-Plain, cheese only from @familia_barrios_catering for the tiny human we made who doesn’t have an appreciation for the finer things in life (yet.) We were hungry so these are the o my pictures I have. I was halfway through mine, hubby’s was gone and the last picture is what’s left of the plain pollo taco no, she isn’t a... big fan of tortillas either. I know...if she didn’t look like her aunt and have her daddy’s eyebrows I’d be mighty suspicious and need a dna test. But she loves to dance so that’s enough to know she’s mine. I woke up early, I received an email regarding placing ANOTHER #calcity property up for sale, met with an Appraiser, had a walkthrough with an adorable couple that is due any day now and cooked carnitas overnight so I didn’t have to stress about cooking and could spend time with my baby when I got home. Obligatory Food post For my Birthday on Friday I wanted tacos. I decided on @tacoselafro. We got the following: Birria and carne asada Mulitas, queso birrias,consommé (duh), And tacos in the following flavors- Jackfruit, mushroom, asada, Birria, and pollo. Luckily it was a cold night out and I was able to get a large order like this pretty quickly! The slow cooked Birria was delicious as always, especially dipped in the consommé! (Buy it, you won’t regret it)... My pescatarian sister enjoyed the jackfruit and mushroom taco options with Jackfruit being her favorite. This was my moms first time having it and she enjoyed the queso Birria the most. We cut them into quarters so we could pace ourselves as eat some of everything. My husband really liked the mulitas with the guac inside. Dipping queso Birria in the consommé was the fave for me. It was Gooey,Cheesy and flavorful! If you haven’t been to Tacos El Afro, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! When it’s cold out the lines are shorter. You get a beeper to wait in your car with, so there really isn’t an excuse. Wear gloves to keep your hands warm while in line and your good to go. I have also had their Birria Ramen on occasion and it’s perfect on a cold day. (honestly any day) The cake is from my ALL TIME FAVORITE spot caramel’s bakery located on Lancaster Blvd. The fruit tart a very similar to Porto’s in The valley and as high of quality. A shortbread bottom, a layer of chocolate and THE FRESHEST fruit with edible glitter on top and a chocolate message.
