Chieftain's Glentauchers 21 Year Old (Retail $249) Chieftain's single malt whiskies are bottled at natural color and without chill-filtration. The whisky color comes from the tannins released by the oak cask during the years of slow maturation. Chieftain's uses a wide variety of different oak, including casks that previously matured sherry, bourbon, port and rum. Distilled September 1992. Bottled March 2014. One of only 223 bottles. Ohishi Sherry Single Cask Whisky / NIHON OWN CASK (Retail $79) Ohishi is a hidden Japanese gem nestled in the mountainous countryside, along with the banks of the Kuma River, one of Japan’s fastest flowing rivers, also known for its pristine water quality. The family-run operation was established in 1872. It may come as no surprise that Ohishi are known first and foremost for their Sake & Shochu, but they also craft one hell of a rice Whisky.
