Every year, we look forward to sharing the dark starry skies with visitors who attend the Annual JTNP Night Sky Festival. It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the cancellation of this year’s JTNP Night Sky Festival (due to take place September 12, 2020). Here are the flyers for January and February at Sky's The Limit
Marker has been the force behind the Night Sky Festival for many years now, and we hope her connections with astronomers far and wide will still be strong in the coming years. Thank you, Marker, for your wisdom and experience. We're so glad you are staying near JTNP and may join us for future Night Sky Festivals and Sky's The Limit events!
Here's UPDATED info for December events at Sky's The Limit.
See the more recent post for updated info. FB won't delete this version of the flyer.
In Visit 29 Palms, it feels like the stars are right at your fingertips. On most Saturdays, Sky's The Limit Observatory and Nature Center hosts free star partie...s. During these events, telescopes are scattered around for visitors to use as astronomers pinpoint exactly what can be seen in the night sky. What would you bring to a star party in the desert? September 12, 2020!
This is such good advice for any stargazing opportunity! "Whatever you do don't stop looking, and absolutely do not look at your smartphone. Its white light will instantly kill your night vision." We can't stress enough how white light (headlights, flashlights, cellphones, kids' sneakers, etc) ruins night vision for anyone attempting to observe through telescopes or binoculars. Please try to control this when you come to a Star Party!!
Join Sky's The Limit for a fascinating look at the history of Astronomy.
