As sunflowers grow and become heavy. They will need a bamboo stick by its side for support. Some sunflowers need more support than others. Through this journey we want to give you the support you need for you to enter motherhood beautiful and radiant like a sunflower.

After talking to a few sleepy parents this week I thought I would share some favorite tips for increasing sleep stretches when it seems like baby is waking up every 30mins to eat: 1. Swaddle your baby at night I know sometimes it seems like your kiddo dislikes the swaddle, but using a swaddle at night is like a reassuring hug. I promise! Your newborn sleeps best directly on your chest or in a swaddle - guaranteed. The swaddle needs to be snug enough so that arms can’t wig...gle out. If arms are out it’s not going to do its magic. . 2. Use all your tricks to keep baby awake for feedings. Get baby undressed down to a diaper and stroke her back, tickle her sweet toes. Change her diaper in between switching breasts to wake her up. 3. Use breast compression. Gentle compression can express milk for baby and remind her what’s she doing to get a full feeding. Considering bottles or supplementing out of exhaustion? Talk with Rachael Oeffner, IBCLC for a custom care plan and some breastfeeding encouragement!

Tips on capturing your birth during COVID-19 from a pro! #Repost @firsthousedoula ... This photo of birth photographer () photographing birth doula (@nightanddaysandiego) photographing mom, dad, and baby took place last year when things in the birth space looked a lot different. I’ve been thinking a lot about all the moms and partners who are without their additional support people and how the impact they’re feeling could be lessened, even if only by a tiny fraction. I’ve added a link in my bio to a $16 tabletop tripod that may offer a DIY solution to capturing your birth during COVID-19. It can be used with any iPhone, DSLR, or GoPro, comes with a wireless remote, and has flexible, non-slip legs that can be wrapped around things like handles or rails! Although a DIY setup will not accomplish the quality or variety of imagery/video that a birth photographer would, you will be able to walk away from your birth having captured the fleeting moments of welcoming your child into the world.
