Susie & Matt had a beautiful traditional Jewish ceremony on a sunny Saturday in San Francisco. Looking out over the ocean on such a clear day was breathtaking. Their day was filled with so much joy and dancing, I felt honored to be able to capture it for them!

Some days I am filled with a lot of uncertainty, and others hope - I’m sure many can relate. @mattieclaire_meese wrote a post yesterday that really hit home for me & I wanted to share my thoughts on the subject as well. As a wedding photographer, I am surrounded by so many weddings (irl and Instagram) that since I got engaged (almost two years ago now) I couldn’t help but start to idolize my own day. I know it’s about everything that comes after that one day, but it’s still... nice to have the pretty details and the picture perfect makeup and the dessert bar that friends talk about years later, isn’t it? Our wedding should have happened a month ago and I guess I’m still grieving it. This is the first time I’ve grieved so hard for a thing - a ‘should have’ or ‘what if’. I should have taken my dress out of the closet, where it’s collected dust for a year. I should have shared beers on the beach with all my family & friends, some I haven’t seen in 1.5 years. I should have said my vows and changed my name. What if all the details I spent so much time planning came together perfectly? What if being surrounded by so much love and comfort on one weekend became my new favorite memory? To anyone experiencing the same feeling, the crushing disappointment and loss of a day wrapped up in so many what if’s and should haves - it’s okay to grieve, but try not to dwell. The same goes for anyone not seeing their families for the holidays. It’s a really hard time, but try to still find the joy. Hold space and hope for your new day that’s right there on the horizon. Maybe it will be even better than you imagined. Maybe all the waiting will be worth it. However you decide to go forward, I guarantee it will still be the absolute best day of your life Better days are coming. Photos of us by the lovely @annaaelizabeth

My first #Napa engagement session! Giulia & Bryan are both Orlando, FL natives and were high school sweethearts. Medical school brought them out to the West Coast and we spent an afternoon exploring their new hometown. We started with a beautiful sunset in the Lands End Sutro Bath area and then finished their session at the nearby Baker Beach! At the second location they changed into Up outfits as it's *their* movie - so sweet :)

One of the highlights of my year was capturing this intimate wedding for Kristin & Travis yesterday! It was nothing like they had originally planned, but they rolled through every challenge with a smile on their face. Even scaled wayyy back (and with social-distancing rules), it was intimate & intentional, just how a celebration of love should be! Congratulations, Mr & Mrs Kelly!
