Sold El Dorado Park South - We sold this house a few months back but just wanted to share a success story. These two were our youngest clients ever when they purchased their Lakewood home in 2018, just before they got married. Check out this Ernest Batchelder tiled fireplace in the listing I just sold at 252 Roswell Avenue in Belmont Heights. In the 1900s Batchelder took a job as the director of the art department at Pasadena Polytechnic (now Cal Tech). He started firing tile in his home studio in 1910. By 1920 he was the most prolific Arts & Crafts Tile marker on the West Coast. The natural simplicity of his work garnered a lot of attention from those building Craftsman homes as the style was driven by the nostalgia of skilled individual artisans over efficiency and mass production.
