There’s a lot of hype about a 2019 recession, and holding off on home ownership. The data would support otherwise. I trust the data more than the media hype, don’t you? . Homes are still increasing in price by 4.2% year over year. The 40 year running average is 4.5%. This suggests are strong / normal real estate market. .... Interest rates are low. Most people are getting 4.75%. The 40 year average is about 7.5%. We’ve got amazing rates right now. . Even if a recession would come... The norm is that home prices increase anyway... (last chart). . Who you work with matters. Get the data that will help you and your family successfully own a home, and successfully plan for your future. . With the data above, if nothing changes, a home that is $500K today will be roughly $2750/month on payments. That home next year will be about $3250/month. . Would savings $500/month be worth risking? That same price of waiting could get you a $600K house today.... . In 20 years, the above data would suggest that the $500K purchase today would appreciate in value up to about $1,150,000. (to calculate, I used 4% yearly appreciation. That is considered below the running 40 year average). . Would the purchase today be worth holding on to? Even if prices dropped 5%, and you buy today, you would still gain around $650K just by paying your mortgage. Would that be worth it? . #realestate #homeownership
