San Mateo County Libraries Service Updates for June 1st We’re making a few changes to our services starting in June. Our in-library Express Service schedule wi...ll now be Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 10:00 AM 5:00 PM in all our communities. Curbside Walk-up Services will continue to be offered Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 10:00 AM 5:00 PM. Starting June 1st, Curbside appointments will be going away, so just head to one of our 13 locations and friendly staff will retrieve your holds and check them out to you, with no appointment needed. To keep our minds active and happy over the summer, they encour...age all youth to participate in a challenge that gets you reading and trying new things! Starting Tuesday, June 1 visit summerlearners.org to sign up online or visit a local San Mateo County Libraries location to sign up in person. All participants are invited to pick up a free, brand-new book of their choice during Curbside Services or Express Service hours. All youth who complete the program will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a $1,000 college scholarship. Volunteer Opportunity - Delivery People Needed - This Friday Pickup between 10:30 and 11:30 - approximately 2 hrs for delivery Help feed families in need by del...ivering groceries. As our food distribution with One Life moved to monthly, we realized this was insufficient for many - especially those who can't easily (or at all) get to other food pantries. Can you help deliver this Friday and/or offer to help with this on a future Friday? Pickup food at One Life - 1033 Laurel St / San Carlos anytime between 10:30 and 11:30 (or if you can make it shortly after this, let us know) We'll give you a planned out route - typically 8-10 deliveries mostly between Redwood City / East Palo Alto and San Mateo . You can leave the groceries at the door with no contact (after texting to let them know) or if you're comfortable and vaccinated, you can knock and say hi Routes typically take about 2 hrs. If you have friends or family members who can help, it can be fun and even easier to have two or three of you to do this. Questions? Let us know.
